Not every name in Norway is charming but when your country is Norway you have hundreds of epic stories to tell. This was the land of the Vikings after all. Norway was called in Old Norse which means the Northern Way. As far as anyone knew it was the main pdonkeyage for the Vikings. But let me not get in the way of the legend. According to Norse mythology the god Norse was the founder of Norway. We know him as Thor. He discovered the area while on a mission to find his mysteriously Phone Number List missing sister. When he found her she had been kidnapped by a giant's son so he married the giant's sister and settled in the new land and called it the Kingdom of Nore France. From one perspective of the story France was named after a spear. But I'll tell you more and you can decide about the 10th century AD when a confederation of Germanic tribes called the Franks invaded the area causing the fall of the Roman Empire. Their name comes from one of their words meaning fierce and brave or eager to fight. which meant the Franks. Later their tribal name meant Zidin because the Franks were the only true Zidins after they conquered the Romanized Gauls. No one makes you pay taxes when you are a conqueror so what ferocious lands do we have now the lands of the Franks and the lands of the Dings. But there was more. Their national weapon was a spear called a Francon which was somewhat like a javelin.
